What do pros use for website design?

My guess is FrontPage, or some other big name brand. But that%26#039;s not my question. I mean, what host do they use? Google Web Hosts, and you get tons of, %26quot;free domain with webpage! only 9.95 a month!%26quot;. I doubt that%26#039;s what pros use, like school web sites, or like the target.com website. I mean, why would a pro website, like the target website or maybe even whitehoues.gov, use the Gold Membership at Yahoo! Geocities?

Front Page, DreamWeaver, Cold Fusion. That%26#039;s what I see the most.

I go with http://www.iPowerWeb.com. It is an awesome value. But I also run another full server with many small accounts.

They don%26#039;t use FrontPage. Most would hand-code their pages in a

text editor or use an IDE such as Visual Studio or Dreamweaver.

Any large site like Amazon, Target etc... host their own sites. They don%26#039;t use a commercial host like Geocities. They have their own building with their own servers and data lines.

Other Replys:Chance are they host their own sites on their servers.

Other Replys:Most people use Macromedia Dreamweaver. Well, now it is Adobe Dreamweaver 8.

As for webhosting--I would say the big websites use their own servers to host their websites. You can visit Web Host Inspector for reviews and great deals on hosting plans. Some as low as $4.95 per month. I would recommend using iPower though. They have the best overall service and plans.

Other Replys:Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and old fashioned coding here (i.e. Notebook)..

Other Replys:We use Dreamweaver a lot.

Also Macromedia Flash

~Sometimes~ Adobe PageMaker, Photoshop

Other Replys:First, we don%26#039;t use FrontPage, that%26#039;s what newbies use. I hard code everything I do, unless it%26#039;s programming in which case I use VS.NET 2005.

As for hosts, it depends. DreamHost is a great host, SecureMate is a great host as well.

%26quot;Pro%26quot; websites don%26#039;t use shared hosting at all. We use Dedicated Servers. Dedicated Servers are your OWN server with ONLY the sites you want. All these hosting companies put other people%26#039;s sites with yours.... that just doesn%26#039;t work with the kind of sites professionals create.

Yahoo.com probably has hundreds of servers for their different things. Amazon probably the same. EBay definitely has many servers. Also, these servers are not huge boxes like your desktop, they are rack-mount servers. About 2 inches high and 12 deep, they are like slices. You mount them together to create space and power.

Other Replys:Well big websites have their own webservers, (their own host areas that are on servers.) This allows them to develop and maintain content on their own site without going through one of the %26quot;middle men%26quot; site that you always see advertised for. In terms of code that they used to develop their web page, alot of sites now use JavaScript, HTML is the most popular, standard web design language, others use PHP, CSS, etc.
