Network of Dedicated Servers?

I am looking for a number of servers (say 40 dedicated machines) each with their own IP, not in the same IP address range, spread around the world. It can be Linux of windows PCs. Does anyone know of a good solution or service for this? I have looked into EC2 from Amazon but they do not have the support I need. Ideas?

Note: I am not looking for caching services or exclusively web hosting. The machines should have different external IPs, possibly different locations and also be able to run desktop windows applications.

Might want to team up with someone else on this (I mean this as in someone who specializes in running servers for other people in different parts of the world.). It%26#039;s not easy to run a totally fresh IP. You have to essentially be in different locations.

Prevents people from hacking on the go.. And then going into another area to change their IP address to avoid detection.

Not knowing what you are trying to accomplish, that%26#039;s a very difficult question to answer. Are they doing failover and redundancy? Load balancing? Different tasks completely?

Personally I think that the OS is not the solution, although Linux is more scalable and will perform better. But you will most likely need a solution running on Linux that provides the desired outcome.

Other Replys:It%26#039;s a bit difficult to answer when we don%26#039;t know what you%26#039;re trying to use the servers for.

Clustering doesn%26#039;t seem to fit your scenario, as you want them all stand-alone.

I%26#039;m sure there are several expensive third-party solutions. However, why don%26#039;t you host your own public DNS records? You can then create DNS records pointing to various public IP address for each server, if each hosts a different application. As Ip addresses change, y ou can edit DNS on your own server at will.

If multiple servers will be hosting the same services, you can load-balance by setting up a front-end server that the DNS records point to, then have that server redirect clients to the IP addresses of your various servers in round-robin fashion, or however you like.

Other Replys:You can get dedicated servers at http://www.doggydomains.com and they come with separate IPs but I don%26#039;t know about the ranges.

Other Replys:I don%26#039;t know how to start my answer...

first of all.. u need 40 IP (FIX IP) so all u need just fine the ISP that provide u the leased line only,,,

Second, u need a caching services or web hosting? Why?

coz.. u already got your own FIX IP.. just use it my friend..

if u need caching services.. then just install squid at your Linux Box... for the web hosting... why don%26#039;t u host by your own... just install apache and bind (DNS) only.... and both your problem solved already..

ok then u need to remote all your machine.. just use FreeNX. It%26#039;s a open source based.. no need to worry about licensing... this what we called freedom... ;-p
