New ftp user in Mac 0S X?

Used Yahoo web hosting instructions to set up and, sure enough, got a new %26quot;folder%26quot; with the basic files (index.html and a tmp folder) on my Mac Desktop. In other words it seems to have %26quot;connected%26quot;... however, when any file of any type or size is dragged and dropped there because the folder %26quot;cannot be modified%26quot;. Get Info says its read only. Feels like a stupid question, but what am I missing?? Thx !!!!

You can connect to FTP files though the Finder but you can%26#039;t upload. Stupid I know. A good, and free, FTP client to start out with is CyberDuck http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/839...
