Ive been hacked! what legal action can I take?

Sensible answers only, this is most annoying.

I have web hosting with Yahoo (Business Account) and I recently found out I was a victim of some (Arabian hacking group).

As far as I know, the server is running within the United States, however my business is running within the UK.

I contacted the FBI deciding it was an attack on american property. They forwarded me onto the embassy for the US within London who told me to speak to my local constabulary. I approached my local police with the information here (plus more) and said this person may have access to my financial credientials. They recommended I shut my accounts with the bank and informed them. I took that action. But I now need to know what action will yahoo take to fix this problem and what legal action and who I should speak to about bringing this hacker to justice (I will go to any length to make a example out of him, hes ruining my work flow). Best regards and please help if possible.

Forget it. If it doesn%26#039;t involve terrorist activity or pedophilia act,nobody%26#039;s care,you%26#039;ll waste your time.THERE IN NO PRIVACY OR SECURITY GUARANTIED WHILE ONLINE.

Yahoo wil take none! get off it and host with google much better! trying to bring a hacker to justice who is outside the country your business is based in is frault with problems especially the middle east! good luck tho

Other Replys:sorry to hear about that, but unfortunaterly Yahoo doesn%26#039;t care, best solution talk to authorities, AND computer security experts. CISS %26lt;computer information security%26gt;. find address and call them talk to them explain your situation. that%26#039;s best you can do so far. you can bring hacker%26lt;s%26gt; to justice but it will take time, and only computer information security specialists will help you

Other Replys:Yep, these guys are right and next time have a better IT staff.

Other Replys:technically, yahoo won%26#039;t do anything. you created an account at your own risk and if you read their terms of service, they clearly state under limitation of liability (20) that YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT YAHOO! AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR DATA

Therefore they are not liable for the unauthorized access to your account. so yahoo will most likely not do anything about this problem.

In addition to what legal action you should take, i believe the best thing to do would be ( since you already contacted your local police) to contact your local Deputy District Attorney. the hacker has committed a crime and is subject to prosecution by law. however, i doubt you will ever bring the hacker to justice, as it is hard ( if not impossible) to find out who it is. best of luck!

Other Replys:How did u know that the hacker was from an Arabian hacking group...?!?

Other Replys:It%26#039;s your website. It%26#039;s your problem. It can%26#039;t have been very secure though!

Read the small print and you%26#039;ll learn. Yahoo takes no responsibility what so ever. Nor does any other ISP. All the same. Could you imagine the amount of junk they would have to cope with because of peoples (and perhaps yours) inability to set up a secure website.

You should follow the instructions given by your local constabulary.
