Before you name your new enterprise, it would be good to know how you plan to differentiate your service from many others in the market right now.



We always here about companies (particularly new airline companies) that want to %26quot;compete on price%26quot;. From personal experience and a graduate degree in Marketing, I know first hand that those companies that try to use %26quot;price%26quot; as a strategy will fail. %26quot;Price%26quot; is not a good strategy because it can and often is met quickly by the competion. It can be neutralized instantly. An established company often does not need to drop price or do anything against a newcomer, because the competition has no effective strategy to begin with.



The first question is: %26quot;Why would a customer choose your new and untested company over a more established and stable company?%26quot; Just make sure your answer is not price. If it is, then you have the problem of higher cost and lower margins (a formula for disaster).



Think about how your company will provide service that makes you different from your competition:



- Unique wireless service features or %26quot;web services%26quot; that allow work collaboration.



- Extensive web development services to medium to small companies that provide infrastructure support to create and maintain standardized Intranet services to employees such as HR policy manuals online, payroll services online, and internal email services, and so on.



- Custom development of web sites. (As an example many companies of every size do not want to hire the costly staff necessary to maintain their corporate web site and that%26#039;s not what they do best anyway as a core skill set. Ideally, the web service skill set is what your company can provide.)



Normally, you want to charge a healthy premium for your services because customers come to you for a unique service that only you can provide them. You get better margins and you can compete in a smaller market. Larger competition will simply not care about small makets.



Companies like Microsoft do not care about small markets, because it simply not profitable for them, however, a small agile company can make a fortune for its founders by being a flea on the back of an 800-pound guerrilla.



Now, back to names. The name needs to be memorable and relevant, but not so specific that it excludes other business areas that you may discover. You will need to do a legal search to make sure that none of the names are taken, but what about:
