Webplus 8?

Okay, it sounds daunting, but this is the way I learned. I made a site, I used my ISP Email Hosting , AOL, and a free FTP program, Aracnophelia,wsFTP Lite,CuteFTP, and Uploaded the Files, (site) to the .index/HTML.

It was like Upload to Myname@aol.com/myhomepage.html

Today is more Numerical, like your Host or your Domain has a 14 Digit number, 111.111.11.11 that is the DNS# that you publish to.

Trick is today, there is a hidden server inside EVERY windows box, and a free one in allmost every Linux Distro.

But shhhh,,cause Daddy Microsoft wants all that money.

The point is, you%26#039;ll need somewhere to put your website so that people can see it. Otherwise, it%26#039;s just sitting on your own computer which does no-one any good apart from you. This means signing up with a web hosting company, or finding some free web space somewhere.

Once you have an account, you%26#039;ll need to upload your website code to the server - this is usually done via a program called FTP. You%26#039;ll get the full instructions when you sign up though.

If you%26#039;re just starting out, somewhere like Geocities (www.geocities.com) is free and might give you what you need - it uses your existing Yahoo username.
