Then read these:

No and No, you might try http://www.phpnet.us who say they offer banner free php hosting. Even for a nonprofit organization, you should consider just getting a paid host. The cost is only 4 to 6 bucks a month!

Does anyone know of a webhosting company that supports asp.net?

I need an affordable web hosting company that will support my asp.net charting software. There is alot of traffic on my website, and a lot of information saved daily so we do require a lot of space.

Other Replys:Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a %26quot;homepage%26quot; which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.

Nevertheless, the %26quot;homepage%26quot; URL is likely to be %26quot;http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name%26quot; and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., %26quot;mydomain.com%26quot; which allows you to link any registered domain name to %26quot;mask%26quot; another website. For example, should you type in the %26quot;domain name,%26quot; you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name [which unfortunately they are not offered truly for free], connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!

How can I develop a db-driven website in ASP.NET without buying db server software?

I%26#039;m building a website in ASP.NET VB (not going to change language at this point), and I%26#039;d like to interact with either MS SQL server or MySQL. In developing the site, I need to test my code locally before deploying on the internet. How can I achieve this without paying for the same software that will be used by the web hosting server? Can I download MS SQL Server Compact Edition, code to that, then just upload to a site using SQL Server? Or is there some way to develop for free with MySQL?

The free database engines from Microsoft are fully compatible with SQL server, the only differences are the supplied tools, the maximum database size and the number of connections.

MySQL is free so you can download and install exactly the same software as used by your web host.

You can download SQL Server Express edition for free from microsoft. If you have the express edition of visual web developer then I believe that you have it already. In any case you can download it seperately. You can get it at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express...

Help!!!Question about building a Website!!!!!?

I have just learned how to write JavaScript code and I am working on building a website. At this point I have all my pages designed. My question is once I purchase a Web Hosting Plan , will I be able to store all my Images in there along with my webpages as long as I purchase enough space needed? Not sure if this makes sense to yous guys so if you need clarification just ask. Keep in mind I am a beginner. Thanks any feedback is appreciated.

Help!!!Question about building a Website!!!!!?

Yes darling, once you purchase a hosting plan, you can copy all your files into your hosting companys server and bingo you are ready to fly, as long as you name your home page index.htm tho.

I think most of them comes with an average of 100mb of space, even for the most basic packages and I%26#039;m sure your website shouldnt be more that 5meg at the most since you say you are a beginner so I guess you have all the space in the world.

But when you register, you have to do your domain first, then the hosting. The domain is the naming procedure i.e www.whatever.com and if this is just the one you do, you cant upload anyfiles in there. The hosting is the one that actually allows you to upload the files to the server.

I hope this answers your question.

Cheers

Yes.

Other Replys:Yes. You can store images that aren%26#039;t even beig used by your website. But keep in mind, they could still be accessed unless you make the image folder private.
